nano Eating Your Fruits and Vegetables may Lower Your Risk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer

The association between what you eat and your health becomes more apparent daily. This association received additional support from a report summarizing data that was presented at an annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in Washington, D.C..

According to the report, and targeting women, a range of foods such as soybeans, fruits, vegetables, coffee and green tea contain powerful antioxidants called flavonoids, that help reduce the risk for breast and ovarian cancer.

In one study, postmenopausal women who consumed high levels of flavonoids had a 45 percent lower risk of breast cancer.

In another study, conducted by a team from the Harvard School of Public Health, it was found that high intake of flavonoids resulted in a decreased risk of ovarian cancer.

So what does this mean to you and me? It means that it is becoming more apparent all the time that we do need to eat our fruits and vegetables daily, and the reason isn’t just about weight control, it’s about disease prevention.

Have a healthy day.
