nano Vitamin C May Lower Your Risk for Oral Cancer

If you use tobacco products and are worried about cancer, I have some news that just might benefit you. In a newly released study, researchers found that Vitamin C can reduce the risk of oral cancer by 50%.

Many people know that smoking cigarettes, cigars, or pipes or using chewing tobacco increases your risk for cancer, especially oral cancer. What many people may not realize is that the death rate for oral cancer is higher than that of cervical cancer, Hodgkin’s disease and melanoma skin cancer.

The study looked at over 42,000 men, women were not included in this study, who used tobacco products on a regular basis. The researchers found that is was dietary vitamin C, not vitamin C from supplements that provided the protection.

Foods that are higher in vitamin C and fairly easy to incorporate into your diet include Red and Green bell peppers, oranges and orange juice from frozen concentrate, broccoli, strawberries, potatoes baked with the skin and papaya.

So if you are a smoker, and even if you are not, here is another reason to be eating fruits and vegetables daily.

Have a healthy day.
