nano Registered Dietitians May Have Your Sleep Potion.

Looking for more energy during the day and better sleep at night? Today I have some helpful hints from Registered Dietitians around the country.

For more energy during the day, David Grotto, a registered dietitian in the Chicago area has these suggestions. Try eating frequently and choose small meals and snacks over large meals. Here are some of his suggestions:

Try mixing cottage cheese and fruit; or hard cooked eggs or tuna with whole grain crackers; maybe nuts and dried fruit; or salads topped with beans or sliced turkey.

Now, for a better nights sleep, registered dietitian Dawn Jackson Blatner, a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association says warm milk just might be the solution because of the protein called tryptophan. Here are her suggestions for food combinations to help you sleep better:

Have graham crackers with warmed milk; or a bowl of oatmeal prepared with low-fat milk; and if you like low-fat yogurt try mixing in some whole grain cereal or fruits.

Finally, if you feel that your lack of energy or difficulty sleeping is more than a short-term problem, please be sure to contact your physician.
