nano If you’re feeling sluggish, Zinc may be helpful

Now that the warmer weather is here many of you may find that your physical activity is increasing with mowing the lawn, washing widows, and gardening. Well, according to researchers at the Department of Agriculture’s Human Nutrition Research Center, active people who get too little Zinc in their diets may run out of steam sooner than they should.

Zinc is responsible for helping the red blood cells in the body get rid of the carbon dioxide. If you are not able to release the carbon dioxide quickly, the result is increasing fatigue.

Zinc is an essential mineral in the body that is found in foods such as meats, grains, nuts, milk products and ready-to-eat cereals. According to the researchers you don’t want to load up on supplements, it’s best to get the Zinc through your foods. The proper amount to consume each day is 8 mgs for women and 11 mgs for men. Just be careful not to exceed 40 mgs a day because you will begin to experience nausea, vomiting, weakness, and a metallic taste in the mouth.

So, if you are running out of steam sooner that you think you should, evaluate what you are eating and be sure you’re diet is balanced with meats, grains and dairy products.
