nano Bring-on the fruits and vegetables for health and enjoyment!

Summer is here and so is the warm weather. We are in the best season to take full advantage of the fresh fruits and vegetables. To prevent disease, lose weight and feel great, fruits and vegetables are a must!

According to the American Dietetic Association, to add flavor to your meal you can cook your vegetables right on the grill. They suggest basting firm vegetables like peppers, corn, eggplant or onions. Season them with herbs and place them on a hot grill, until tender and brown, usually about 10 to 15 minutes.

Or try sliced zucchini, tomatoes and carrots. Place them on heavy-duty foil and sprinkle with a little water and seasoning. Wrap the foil and grill six to eight minutes or until vegetables are tender.

To add fruit, choose your favorite fruits and create fruit kabobs. You will want to grill fruit kabobs on low heat until the fruit is hot and slightly golden.
