How many of you enjoy an ice cold glass of milk? If you not lactose intolerant and you haven’t forgotten how much you like milk, you probably drink it every day.
Milk is one of the richest sources of calcium. Calcium is an essential nutrient that if quantities are too low in the body can lead to muscle cramps and osteoporosis.
Researchers studying milk have also found an association between milk and good blood pressure. Milk has also been found to help with weight control.
Well now milk is being associated with a decreased risk of heart disease according to researchers at the University of Bristol in England. After studying 764 men over the course of twenty years, they found a couple of interesting things. First, men who consumed a pint or more of milk every day had higher energy intake, suggesting they were more active. Second, the high milk drinkers also had a lower risk of heart disease and stroke than those who drank the least.
So, if you have forgotten how good an ice cold glass of milk taste, I encourage you to try it again. Just remember, you don’t need a large glass, an 8 oz size will be great.
